Joseph Renda Jr. is a Chicago based fine artist. He will be graduating with a Bachelors in Fine Arts from the American Academy of Art (2018). He finds himself intrigued with the creative process, technique, the use of cause and effect though experimentation as well as the value of materials and mark making. Weather throwing chemicals on top of paint to obtain an uncontrollable abstract reaction, to Realism and tromp l’oeil, he wishes to find a middle ground between the two. Combining stylistic approaches from traditional classical representation, abstraction and street art, his work has been described as the battle and unity of chaos and refinement. He utilizes new school materials and methods with traditional medium and technique. His work revolves around the connection humanity has to all things. Weather the connection be nature, humanity or experiences, they are connected as a whole. He is intrigued with the concept of humanities connection to all things. He is also influenced by nature psychology, personal and the overall human experience, examination of self, synchronicity, decay and surrealism. He has shown in multiple galleries and has public works around the city of Chicago.
